The surroundings were not quite so great and coffee was not tasty.

The room was exactly what you would expect in this price range. It was clean, quiet, the bed was very comfortable and the pillows were great. The wifi worked well and was fast. The tv was good. The location is great because there are many restaurants and gas stations nearby.
The towels were a little scratchy. The breakfast was ok.

Perhaps a feature worth adding to advertising stays with motel is a fact that 8 miles of greenways are directly accessible from motel rooms. One can safely ride bicycle, jog, or walk along very scenic nature routes. Another great feature is the mountain bike trails less than 2 miles from motel when using greenways.
Stayed another night, Sunday night, and attendant charged me same rate when most motels would drop price $10-$20 because Sunday night is notoriously slow one for motels. Motel could work better to identify with the pulse of community's local activities to offer special rates for those traveling to Lenoir. Yes, organizations scheduling events can do better to spread word of upcoming venues to local motels. But the early bird gets the worm. And guests enjoy staff versed with local events.

the location and the space in the room
The room given was a non-smoking, but it had a stink of a smokers room. The AC was an old one which would either become very hot or too cold.

The room had a clean, fresh feel with modern updates. Check-in went smoothly, and the staff were friendly throughout my stay. The location next to the Lenoir Greenway made for a nice morning walk. The bathroom ceiling had some black spots, and the shower knob needed fixing. The TV remote didn't work properly, a bit frustrating. Limited parking made it hard to find a spot close to my door. I appreciated the comfort and cleanliness of the room but noticed several maintenance issues that need attention.

We spent two nights and loved how clean the room was. The staff was super friendly and made check-in easy. Our kids enjoyed exploring the nearby park, and we appreciated how close everything was, including a Papa John's for late-night snacks.
My kids wished there was a pool for them to splash around in. It would have.
